About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Queens, La Fusta stands out as a premier Argentinian restaurant that has won the hearts of locals and visitors alike. This gem at 80-32 Baxter Ave expertly brings the fiery passion of Argentina’s culinary traditions to New York, creating a dining experience that’s both comforting and exhilarating.

La Fusta’s menu is a delightful parade of rich, bold flavors, anchored by expertly grilled meats and thoughtfully crafted accompaniments. The Large Skirt Steak (Entrana) is a crowd favorite, celebrated for its tender juiciness and perfectly charred edges that speak to traditional American grill mastery infused with Argentinian flare. Complementing the steak is the unmistakable, vibrant Chimichurri Sauce — garlicky, herbaceous, with just the right hint of acidity that enhances every bite and even comes with free refills to ensure you never run short of this sauce’s magic.

For a taste of something heartier, the Shell Steak Pirandello offers a succulent, flavor-packed option, while the Short Ribs melt effortlessly on the palate, imbued with smoky depth. Poultry lovers are equally spoiled with a variety of chicken dishes — the Chicken Milanese Fried Cutlet provides a satisfying crunch, and the Chicken Francese delights with its delicate lemon and wine sauce. For those who seek a fusion of creamy and savory, the Chicken Breast Roquefort captivates with rich Roquefort cheese notes.

The Picada Argentina offers a social, shareable experience featuring a selection of cured meats and cheeses that perfectly set the stage for a memorable meal. The Spinach Cannelonis and fresh, crisp La Fusta Salad with avocado and shrimp are thoughtful lighter options that balance the menu’s robust flavors.

Side dishes carry their own charm; the French Fries Provenzal boast a fragrant garlic and parsley seasoning that pairs beautifully with any main, while the Sauteed Spinach and Mashed Potatoes provide comforting, classic complements. Though some reviewers found the broccoli and mashed potatoes on the milder side, these options serve as humble yet satisfying palate partners to the bold main courses.

Desserts at La Fusta are indulgent finishes to a memorable meal. The Flan with Dulce De Leche offers silky smooth caramel-sweet richness, while the Tres Leches Cake and Tiramisu combine airy textures with deep, comforting flavors. The Dulce De Leche Crepes showcase a quintessentially Argentinian sweet, rounding out the menu with finesse.

Beyond the food, La Fusta radiates warmth and authenticity, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels both intimate and lively. The presence of live music infuses dinner with a pleasant ambiance, making it a favorite spot for gatherings and special evenings. The staff consistently receive praise for their attentive, friendly service, ensuring every visit feels personal and welcoming.

Regular diners share a deep affection for La Fusta, highlighting its consistency and the genuine passion behind its cuisine. As one long-time patron put it, this restaurant isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a beloved neighborhood treasure where great steak and sangria flow freely amid convivial chatter and music.

If you’re craving an honest, richly authentic Argentinian meal where every dish is crafted with care and every detail enhances the experience, La Fusta is a dining destination that promises to delight your senses and leave you savoring each moment.

Lovely restaurant with great atmosphere and friendly servers. Food and drinks were mostly on point. The empanadas (beef, chicken, and spinach) were all great. The entrana (skirt steak) was the highlight of the American Grill. Free bread and chimichurri refills. The broccoli and mashed potatoes were a bit bland, but fine.

I’ve been coming to La Fusta for nearly 10 years and it’s been consistently amazing. It’s truly a hidden gem of Elmhurst. You can get a beautifully cooked steak, enjoy live music and have the friendliest staff take care of you here. Go here and bring your friends. Share the sangria, enjoy all the food. You won’t be disappointed.

Always a favorite for skirt steak and the La Fusta salad. The live music doesn’t hurt either. Been going for years. One of me and my husbands favorite restaurants.

The place delivers on food, service, and atmosphere all at once. The dishes feature fresh components presented thoughtfully. La Fusta deserves more credit than I can articulate. The team's service quality impressed us. I'm completely taken with this restaurant.

La Fusta offers a classic Argentinian dining experience with a warm atmosphere and exceptional service. The standout for me was the chimichurri – garlicky, flavorful, and perfect with bread. I finished the whole serving! The beef empanadas were also memorable, packed with juicy, well-seasoned meat. The Cream of Shrimp soup, while generous with shrimp, tasted more like a creamy chicken noodle. It needed more seafood flavor. The 20oz Shell Steak was tender and cooked to perfection though a little extra char and seasoning would have elevated it. And the Fettuccine with Meatballs was satisfying but could’ve had a bit more depth. Overall, a solid experience – I’d definitely return!

Excellent steak and fish. Fresh salads. We had a business meeting here and this place is easily able to accommodate a small group of people. They have a TV and we were able to hook up a computer with HDMI cable. Service was swift and efficient. Also, this restaurant is right across from Elmhurst hospital. Occasional ambulance sirens would not spoil an overall good experience.
